How to choose your battery for blazewear products

Battery for garments

All garments are supplied with a hand held controller for ease of use and a 3 heat setting lithium battery with mains charger. There is also a double capacity version of this battery which can be bought as an upgrade at the time of purchase whereby we swap the standard battery for the double capacity battery.

Controller fits in a small inside pocket in the garment and can be operated in the pocket or taken out and held and/or placed in a trouser pocket

Batteries for gloves/insoles/scarves & warmers

Standard Alkaline batteries can be used such as Duracell's but as these are ‘one use only', and so this is an expensive route. Alkaline batteries do not deliver a constant current and so we do not recommend their use. It is much better to buy NiMH (nickel metal hydride) rechargeable batteries such as the ones used in digital cameras. We recommend the highest capacity available such as 2900mAh as this means that they will last longer in your gloves. These batteries can also be recharged up to a 1000 times are so are a much more viable option in terms of cost.

We strongly recommend upgrading to our Lithium Polymer batteries as these are supplied with a mains charger. These batteries are smaller, lighter and last longer and have two heat settings to allow the temperature to be controlled. There is obviously the additional cost involved, but we feel that the benefits gained are really worth the investment and can add up to 2.5 more hours of heating time than conventional AA batteries.
